Purpose of the digital portfolio

The purpose of the digital portfolio is to apply for an IT job, I am going to be producing a digital portfolio so the company can see the work I am capable of.

I will be showing them a range of my work, such as images, audio tracks, programmes and systems.

Reviewing and Evaluating the Digital Portfolio

Introduction

In this introduction I will be reviewing my portfolio and explaining why it meets my target audience. I will also be explaining why my portfolio meets its purpose. I will be explaining any changes I have made to my portfolio during development. I will explain why I designed my portfolio the way it is. I will also be explaining 5 strengths and 5 weaknesses of my digital portfolio. I will read and consider any suggested improvements to my digital portfolio. I will then write a conclusion about my portfolio.  

How does the digital portfolio meet the target audience?

My digital portfolio meets the target audience which is an IT employer by having appropriate IT related image on my homepage.

My digital portfolio is also suitable for an IT employer because it explains a bit about me and what I like, it also contains all the work I did on my IT course.

How does the digital portfolio meet its purpose?

My digital portfolio meets its purpose which is to show the work that I am capable of by uploading the work I have done on the IT course.

My digital portfolio also meets its purpose because of the suitable IT background images provided by wix.

Evaluate any changes made to the digital portfolio during its development

I have stuck to my original designs of the digital portfolio and have only changed a couple of images now and again, the reason as to why I changed a couple of images was because they wasn’t IT related, apart from that I am happy with the way my digital portfolio is coming along.

How was the digital portfolio designed and why?

I designed my digital portfolio the way it is because it is simple to understand, it is also easy to navigate through the pages. I have also designed my portfolio this way because I can fit all my units’ assessments onto one page. The design of my digital portfolio helps meet the purpose because it allows me to show off all my work I have done and completed.

Strengths of the Digital Portfolio       

Strength number 1.

I can keep my digital portfolio up

 To date by being able to edit and

Change text when I need to.

 2. Another strength is being able to customize my digital portfolio to how I like it but also that it looks professional.

Strength number 3.

Social media allows me to share my digital portfolio with possible future employers.

Strength number 4.

Just the fact that my portfolio is digital gives me so many advantages, one of them being that it’s portable.

Strength number 5.

My digital portfolio allows me to show possible future employers what I am capable of and the work I have already completed.

Weaknesses of the Digital Portfolio

Weakness number 1. Other people can make a copy of my digital portfolio and customize it and tweak it here and there to make it seem different.

Weakness number 2. Some people may edit the digital portfolio in negative ways so therefore future employers may not like the portfolio.     

Weakness number 3. With the portfolio being digital it opens up possibilities of being hacked and taken from me to be sold to others or for their personal use.

Weakness number 4. Because the portfolio is digital, if I send an employer my digital portfolio and they don’t like it, I can’t express or explain some of the stuff on my portfolio to them.

Comments from the peer questionnaires

After reading all my peers’ comments from my questionnaires all of the feedback I have been given is positive. My digital portfolio is suitable for its purpose, the background on every page is suitable for its task, all the text is clear to see and read, all the images are clear and not blur, all the links take me to the correct location and finally the link to my spreadsheet works.

Suggested improvements that could be made to the digital portfolio

From the feedback I have been given, my peers have suggested no further improvements, however if I had the experience and time I would have been able to improve my digital portfolio by adding more features and functions.

Conclusion

In conclusion I feel that I have created a good digital portfolio, I feel this because I have met all the criteria’s. I have feedback saying my digital portfolio suits its purpose.
